About Me

Welcome!

Hi there! My name is Ashley Flynn and I have been married to my husband, Tim Flynn, for almost 6 years. We have a beautiful daughter named Hayley who is three and half. She is the light of our lives and keeps us on our toes. Our conception journey was not an easy one, so we are grateful every day to have her in our lives. We currently live in Rochester, NY where both my husband and I were born and raised.

I have always had a passion for helping others and enjoyed working with children. After high school I decided to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood and Special Education. After receiving my degree, I was a substitute teacher while searching for a full time position and debating whether or not to get my Master’s Degree in Teaching. I made a decision to go back to school, but this time to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. I love helping others and the plethora of opportunities for Nurses was very enticing. I worked as a Pediatric Nurse at Strong Memorial Hospital for 5 years and although some days were unbelievably difficult, it was beyond rewarding.

After having my daughter my whole world, as well as my priorities, changed drastically. I could not bear working crazy hospital hours and missing holidays with my family. I made the very difficult decision to leave the hospital and start a job as a Nurse Case Manager where I was able to work from home. This schedule allowed me to spend quality time with my family and not miss out on all those precious milestones.

My passion to help others is still strong. Most Mama’s, me included, put so much pressure on themselves to be the picture perfect mom. We believe we must have the perfect birthday parties, the spotless house and have our children participate in every extra curricular activity all while working full time and cooking a healthy dinner every night. The expectations we put on ourselves is crazy!

My hope for this blog is to provide you with helpful tips for motherhood, family life, self care and simple style. In case no one has told you lately, YOU ARE AMAZING!
